Night City is calling again—and this time, it’s bringing a fresh face.
CD PROJEKT RED and Studio TRIGGER have announced that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will make its first official appearance at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles . The panel, titled “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 — Welcome Back to Night City!”, takes place July 3 at 7:30 PM PT at Crypto.com Arena.
The panel promises a first look at the next standalone story set in the neon-soaked sprawl of Night City. Unlike a direct continuation, Season 2 will feature a brand-new cast of characters and an original narrative, following the anthology approach that gives creators more freedom within the Cyberpunk universe.

Fans can expect behind-the-scenes discussions with the creative team, including showrunner Bartosz Sztybor, executive producer Saya Elder, and series director Kai Ikarashi. The session will be hosted by content creator Danny Motta .
The panel follows last year’s Anime Expo announcement, where CD PROJEKT RED revealed the collaboration with TRIGGER and unveiled the logo and first promotional poster . This year’s session will dive deeper into the creative process behind the new series.
The panel is part of Anime Expo’s stacked programming, which also includes world premieres of Black Torch and Magic Knight Rayearth.
For fans who’ve been waiting since 2022’s award-winning original series, this is the first real look at what’s next. The standalone approach suggests fresh stories, new characters, and the same brutal, emotional edge that made Edgerunners a phenomenon.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will stream on Netflix upon release . For now, Night City’s next chapter begins on July 3.
