Publisher Square Enix will not be releasing Yang Can’t Live Alone in English print anymore.
Square Enix did not release an official statement but the Yang Can’t Live Alone page can no longer be found on their page as of August 27. The Yang Can’t Live Alone manga covers for Volumes 1 to 3 were still up on their site as of August 26 when we last checked although links to purchasing links like Barnes and Noble and Amazon led to broken pages. Books a Million still has the listing on their site.
The removal of Yang Can’t Live Alone is due to creator sooncha’s ongoing disputes with Manga UP! The mangaka revealed that they were trying to pull their copyright on August 3 due to a breakdown of trust between them and the publisher due to editorial issues. The manga would no longer be available to read on August 13 after the third volume was published. sooncha said they will look for another publisher to continue the serialization of Yang Can’t Live Alone.
The manga debuted on Manga UP! in December 2024. Square Enix describes the series:
Yuu is as industrious and hardworking as a college student can be, but that means guys tend to find her serious demeanor intimidating. Should she have to change her strong-willed personality to be “number one” in someone’s heart? Yang is a puppy-like Chinese exchange student who wanders into Yuu’s life after she rescues him from a tricky situation. He asks her to be his bodyguard, and they form a new “professional” relationship. But soon, deeper feelings begin to take root…
The first volume was supposed to release on September 15. The manga is still available on Manga UP! Global and the latest update was on August 19 with Chapter 15.3.
