Japanese pop-rock trio MGA (Mrs. GREEN APPLE) has released “Brand New,” the official Japanese theme song for Sony Pictures’ upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The track is available now on all streaming platforms ahead of the film’s simultaneous theatrical release in Japan and the U.S. on July 31.

Written exclusively for the film following creative discussions with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, producer Amy Pascal, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and Marvel Music Supervisor Dave Jordan, “Brand New” captures Peter Parker’s determination to protect those he loves while embracing his role as Spider-Man. The track blends cinematic arrangements with MGA’s signature theatrical pop-rock sound.
To celebrate the release, MGA sat down with cast members Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon for a special interview. During the conversation, vocalist Motoki Ohmori revealed that the lyric “beyond ‘I love you'” was inspired by his realization that Spider-Man’s web-shooting gesture resembles the internationally recognized “I LOVE YOU” hand sign when viewed from a different angle—a insight that delighted the cast.
“Brand New” arrives as MGA enters “Phase 3,” the band’s next creative era. The group is set to release their sixth studio album on September 30 via EMI Records / Universal Music Japan, followed by a nationwide arena tour spanning 13 cities across 28 performances.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE continues their remarkable run—third consecutive Japan Record Award, 16 billion domestic streams, and now a Marvel theme song. “Brand New” is available now, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31.
