Will Gero find his perfect partner?
That’s the big question in Marriagetoxin. Bandai Namco dropped a main visual reveal PV which summarized the events of Season 1 of the comedy anime and revealed the key visual for the second season. The PV ends with Mei’s vow to find Gero’s partner for life. The main visual features the two partners smiling with Mei propping their leg up on the car as Gero holds his needle with the poison behind a yellow tape warning people to keep out.

Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda’s manga first launched on Shonen Jump+ app and website on April 20, 2022. Viz Media later licensed the series for an English print release.
The anime adaptation was produced by Bones Film with Motonobu Hori directing and Kimiko Ueno writing the scripts and series composition. Kohei Tokuoka designed the characters and served as the chief animation director. Taisei Iwaksaki and Yuma Yamaguchi worked on the music together.
Hikaru Gero has never known normalcy. Not since he was a child, born into the Poison Clan, one of the Five Great Families of assassins. As the heir to the clan, he has never had any expectations of love or a relationship but the Poison Clan throws down an ultimatum: if he doesn’t get married and produce an heir, they’ll force his sister to do it against her wishes. Desperate, Gero decides to propose to the next person he sees: his target, the marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki who promptly rejects him. It does little to deter Gero who switches gears and asks Kinosaki to train him and help him find a bride—someone who truly loves.
The anime premiered on April 7, with all thirteen episodes streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga can be read on Manga Plus and Viz Media. Season 2 premieres in January 2027.
