Save Me will be adapted into a short drama.

The action manhwa Save Me is next on Lezhin Snack’s docket for short drama adaptations and the app has dropped the trailer for the upcoming live-action. The trailer opens with Hyeongoh getting absolutely pummeled before a car accident puts him in a wheelchair. This only puts him in a more vulnerable position to be harassed and bullied but when someone steps in a defends him, perhaps not all hope is lost. Details on the casting were not readily available at this article’s writing.

Lezhin Snack has already adapted 1230’s other manhwa Blood Strangers which was released on the app in March.

Written and illustrated by 1230, Save Me was first licensed on Lezhin’s Korean platform in 2016 and released on the English platform a year later. The series contains 63 episodes and completed on the English platform on April 4, 2018. 1230 says the inspiration for the manhwa came when they watched an interview of someone whose sibling had been murdered. The murderer, a serial killer, was later discovered to have come from an impoverished background.

In a creator’s note at the end of the manhwa, they wrote: “This story stuck with me, repeating in my mind. It grew until I was inspired to draw a story about someone in similarly disadvantaged and difficult circumstances who is able to make a different choice…”

Lezhin describes the manhwa:

Hyeongoh, the first place student at school, is disabled and has a knack for getting ridiculed by the school’s bullies. With no help and no way out, he finds himself in a despairing situation…until someone appears to stand by his side!

All episodes of Save Me can be read on Lezhin. The short drama releases on June 4 on the Lezhin Snack app.
