Hyperventilation and Mignon will no longer be available to view on Vimeo.
ABJ Company, the company that produced the aeni and also publishes webcomics, announced the news on their social media page. They noted that the removal of the two original BL aeni was due to a “policy change by Vimeo.” While Vimeo will still be operating, Vimeo on Demand, the service that allows for streaming videos, will be discontinued on September 21, 2026. This means viewers will lose access to any content they previously purchased or rented. On July 23, viewers will not be able to make any new purchases nor will they be able to subscribe if they haven’t already.
As of now, Hyperventilation and Mignon will now only be available to watch on LAFTEL, WATCHA, and Heavenly but with varying levels of accessibility.
LAFTEL is a Korean streaming platform, mainly for aeni that includes Korean dub of Japanese anime, adaptations of Korean manhwa, and original aeni like Hyperventilation and Mignon. However, LAFTEL is only available in Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
WATCHA is a subscription video on-demand OTT service which distributes television series, specials, variety shows, animations, and more. Some notable series include the BL animation adaptation of Semantic Error, Recipe for Farewell, and The Destiny Changer. However, WATCHA can only be used for those in Korea which means those outside of the region must use a VPN.
The only global platform is Heavenly, a global streaming platform based in Korea that hosts all BL series including Chinese BL like Double Helix as well as shorts. Unfortunately, all the titles on Heavenly can only be rented and not downloaded. If fans want to view only those two series, it’ll cost 36 Cube Charge which costs between $5.69 to $8.99 (30 Cube Charges is $5.69 and 50 costs $8.99). Hyperventilation will cost one Cube Charge per episode but for those who want the entire series, it’ll cost 6 Cube Charges; fans can buy 10 Cube Charges for $1.99. A monthly membership will cost $9.99.
Hyperventilation was Bboong Bbang Kkyu’s first BL animation which debuted in 2017. Consisting of six three-minute episodes. The tale, consisting of two high school classmates who reunites ten years later, was later adapted into a web novel in 2020. A manhwa has also been published.
Mignon is the creator’s most recent and likely most popular aeni. It is a fantasy series centred around an illegal boxing arena where a young rising boxer named Mignon fights battles every night. His injuries are cared for by a mysterious and handsome doctor who has, so far, brushed aside Mignon’s open affection. However, the boxer discovers the doctor is hiding an enormous secret about his identity. Oh Minhyeok voices Mignon while Kim Minju voices Oh Young-One, the doctor.
