A sweet family manhwa will come to life in an animated format.
LAFTEL, the streaming platform for Korean adaptations and Korean-dubbed anime and donghua, dropped a teaser for an animated adaptation of 친하게 지내자 which loosely translates to Let’s Stay Close. The series will drop on May 1. It is unclear how many episodes it will contain or how long it will be. The GIF features Mona writing the name of the aeni on the wall and turning to gaze calmly at the audience.
The series, written and illustrated by Yeongil, is a slice-of-life family-oriented manhwa that follows a romance novelist named Hansu who has spent most of his adult life by himself. That is, until his niece, Mona, barges into his life. Charming and quiet, Mona exhibits an adult-like countenance that is at odds with her young age and Hansu’s more immature lifestyle. Will the two ever get close with each other?
LAFTEL has adapted numerous manhwa into aeni including BL series One Room TA, Semantic Error, No Love Zone, Dangerous Convenience Store, drama series Pyramid Game, fantasy series Red Fox, and more. Unfortunately, the aeni are only available to those in Korea.
Let’s Stay Close does not have an official English translation yet but can be read on Lezhin’s Korean platform.
