Korea’s super-powerful duo is making their English print debut soon.
Earlier at Anime Expo 2025, Inklore had announced it, along with its sibling imprint Ink Pop, will partner with WEBTOON to bring fourteen of the digital platform’s series to print. The first, Eleceed, will hit bookshelves in January 2027 which is a bit of a delay from its initial announcement of fall this year. Inklore has revealed the cover for the first volume, showcasing Jiwoo sprinting through the streets alongside an affronted-looking Kayden.
Written by Son Jeho and illustrated by Zhena, Eleceed first began serialization on Naver WEBTOON in October 2018 before making its debut on the English platform on May 6, 2019. The action manhwa is still serializing on the platform with close to 400 chapters as of this article’s publishing.
At the same event as Inklore’s print announcement of Eleceed, it was revealed that the manhwa had inspired an anime adaptation with DandeLion Animation Studio animating and producing the series and Hiroshi Nishikori directing. Yousuke Kuroda will write the script with Minami Sakura as the character designer. Although the anime was slated for a release this year, no other information since Anime Expo has been announced since then.

In a world where Awakened humans develop elemental superpowers, Kayden is among the most fearsome of them all with his seemingly unstoppable electricity. But when dire circumstances send him on the run, Kayden seeks the perfect disguise to hide from his foes and ends up transforming into a cat—the biggest, chubbiest orange cat on the streets of Korea.
Injured and unable to return to his human form, Kayden stumbles across Jiwoo, a lonely boy who adores cats and devotes all his free time to taking care of strays. To Kayden’s surprise, Jiwoo is an Awakened with the power of super speed; however, his abilities are underdeveloped, as he has been taught to hide them his whole life. With Kayden as his grumpy cat mentor, can Jiwoo successfully join the ranks of the Awakened, use his powers to keep evil forces at bay, and most important . . . save every cat in need?
Bundling the first 17 chapters of the webtoon, Eleceed Vol. 1 releases on January 19, 2027.
