PADAK, the artist for How to Ride the Hero’s Coattails, will be leaving the manhwa after Episode 31.
The announcement came from both the artist’s X, formerly known as Twitter, account and the notice page on KakaoPage. A new artist has been selected although not announced yet and will make their debut in Episode 31. The studio asked fans for their continued love and support for the story as the artist had worked hard and poured a lot of love into the work. According to PADAK, the new artist will continue with using their design and style to maintain continuity.

PADAK did not reveal a reason for their departure but they expressed regret that, despite their best efforts, they were not able to continue with the work and see to its conclusion. The artist said they will still continue to support the story and asked readers to extend their support as well. They promised to spend the time to rest and regroup before coming back with a new work.
Based on lamonglamong’s original webnovel, How to Ride the Hero’s Coattails was adapted into a manhwa with PADAK and Aurora Studio working on the art and ZEHE and Dami working on the story’s adaptation. The manhwa launched on KakaoPage on October 2, 2025 and has garnered close to five million views as of this article’s publishing. The English translation debuted on March 5, 2026 on Tapas. The original novel launched in 2023 on Yeondam and has 199 chapters of the main story and 10 side chapters.
