VIZ Media has announced that BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, the fourth and final installment of the blockbuster anime franchise, will premiere July 25 at 7:30 a.m. PDT exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in select international markets .
The final arc picks up as the Thousand-Year Blood War between the Soul Reapers and Quincies reaches its breaking point. Yhwach breaches the Royal Palace and shatters Squad Zero’s Bankai before entering the Reio Greater Palace. Ichibe Hyosube entrusts Ichigo and his allies with protecting the Soul King—but Yhwach’s deception leads Ichigo to strike down the Soul King himself, triggering the collapse of the Three Worlds.
The Thirteen Court Guard Squads and surviving Quincies mount a final assault on the Wahr Welt, the Royal Palace now transformed into a Wandenreich fortress. As Ichigo confronts Uryu’s true intentions and Yhwach’s Almighty power, the battle for survival reaches its climactic conclusion.
Produced by PIERROT FILMS with Tomohisa Taguchi directing and handling series composition alongside Masaki Hiramatsu, the installment features music by renowned composer Shiro SAGISU. Creator Tite Kubo remains closely involved in the production, continuing his oversight of the anime’s final arc.
