An Hour of Romance will, indeed, give viewers an hour of romance (and comedy) on their television screens.
Renamed to Love O’Clock, the live-action adaptation has found its cast and crew. Shin Hye-sun will reunite with Na In-woo as Cha Joo-an and Yu Dojin, respectively. The two last starred in Mr. Queen back in 2020. Yoon Kyun-sang will portray Ko Tae-hun and Lee Ju-woo will play Choi Mi-hyang.
The series will be overseen by Extraordinary You‘s Kim Sang-hyeop who will direct and Business Proposal‘s Han Seol-hee and Hong Bo‑hee who will write the script. Binge Works will produce the television series.
The creator behind An Hour of Romance, Kim Myeongmi, had previously worked as the artist for romcom What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? The webcomic puts a unique and playful spin on the body swap trope where Cha Joo-an and Yu Dojin are forced to switch bodies for an hour each day.
Tappytoon describes the story as below:
Jooahn and Dojin couldn’t be any more different at work. She’s a perpetually single career woman who takes everything too seriously and rules with an iron fist. He’s a modelesque klutz with a heart of gold who lucked into an entry-level marketing job. But when a company trip to a mysterious temple starts an inexplicable soul swap, they end up switching bodies for an hour each day. To avoid utter embarrassment and keep up their reputations, the unlikely pair will have to cooperate and bide their time. Will Jooahn learn to sympathize with the pretty boy who can’t do anything right? And will Dojin see the softer side of his boss’s spiky persona?
Shin recently starred in the Netflix mystery thriller series The Art of Sarah. Na recently starred in Motel California and another webtoon adaptation Marry My Husband. Yoon’s last big role was in 2019 when he played Ki Moo-hyuk in Class of Lies. Lee is currently portraying Assistant Inspector Go Joo-ran in Mad Concrete Dreams.
An Hour of Romance can be read in English on Tappytoon where it concluded with 175 chapters on December 21, 2023. A release date for the Netflix-exclusive series has not yet been announced.
