From “Listen up, Jian” to “Listen up, Uncle,” A Shop for Killers is gearing up to be another thrilling season.
Disney+ dropped the trailer for the upcoming season of A Shop for Killers. Jian inherits her uncle’s legacy as the new head of Murthehelp. The teaser trailer shows that danger still lurks around the corner for Jian as she fights against Babylon. The organization plans to use her as bait to lure her uncle Jin Man out with Bale hell-bent on killing Jin Man. Jin Man’s voice narrates the trailer: “One day, you might get your arm ripped off. When that happens, don’t try to save the arm. Protect the arm you have left.”
A new visual was also released, featuring Jian and Jin Man holding guns and staring straight at the viewers.
Based on a novel by Kang Ji Young called The Killer’s Shopping List, A Shop for Killers follows Jung Jian, a college student, who goes to live with her uncle Jin Man after her parents get brutally murdered. Her uncle runs an “agricultural equipment” warehouse which is actually a front for an illegal weapons shop and all of the strange hobbies Jin Man forced Jian into were actually a guise for combat skills, marksmanship, and survival training. All of those skills come in handy when Jian is left alone after Jin Man commits suicide, and finds herself the target of numerous assassins.
Starring Lee Dongwook as Jin Man and Kim Hye-jun as Jian, the drama launched on Disney+ on January 17, 2024 for eight episodes and has gained positive reception. The drama has received nominations with Geum Hae-na winning “Best Supporting Actress” at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.
There is currently no official English translation of the novel. Season 2 premieres on Disney+ in July.
