Yang Ilwoo and Me will not release any new chapters for approximately four months.
Creator Nodeok took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post the announcement. In their note, they explained that the combination of looming deadlines and other personal circumstances has led to extreme mental exhaustion that made it physically impossible for them to continue the serialization. As such, in order to maintain the quality of writing and artwork, they have decided to take a break for four months to recuperate. They aim to come back on August 15, and although it is not a confirmed return date, they have reassured readers that Yang Ilwoo and Me will have a happy ending.

Fans were extremely supportive of Nodeok’s decision, encouraging them to take their time resting and to come back in good health. Many thanked them for working hard for the past few months and promised to wait for Nodeok, Ilwoo, and Baekhee’s return.
Yang Ilwoo and Me was released on the English platform Tapas on December 26, 2025 and concluded its first season on March 6, 2026. The story on the various Korean platforms is currently on Chapter 29.
Nodeok previously wrote and illustrated The Shape of Your Love and The Shape of Sympathy which can be read on Tapas and Manta, respectively.
Tapas describes the story:
Jang Baekhee is counting the days until he can escape Gicheon before his deadbeat father is released from prison. But then Yang Ilwoo arrives: a delinquent transfer student with a cheap perm, brassy hair, and a loneliness that mirrors Baekhee’s own. Slowly, their uneasy friendship deepens into something tender. But Ilwoo came to Gicheon with a secret that could shatter the fragile comfort they’ve both found in each other. And when the past comes calling, can two broken souls survive the truth?
Yang Ilwoo and Me can be read in English on Tapas.
