Villains are Destined to Die Announces Anime Adaptation

Villains are Destined to Die is getting an anime adaptation.

The popular romantasy manhwa Villains are Destined to Die has revealed that an anime adaptation is currently in production, although a studio and the staff have not been announced as of this article’s writing. The announcement came at the end of the Japanese serialization on Piccoma. Other details such as voice cast and release date have not yet been revealed.

Villains are Destined to Die was originally a webnovel written by Gwon Gyeoeul and has garnered more than 1.7 million views on Kakaopage. The webnovel was later adapted into a webcomic with SUOL illustrating the artwork and has amassed 14.8 million views on the Korean platform and 16.1 million views on Tapas. The webcomic has 214 episodes and will finish with the final chapter on Tapas on August 12.

Plans for a spin-off of the webcomic was also announced although no release date has been revealed.

Villains are Destined to Die can be read online on Tapas, Manta, and Tappytoon. Ize Press, Yen Press’s manhwa imprint, publishes the series in print for both the manhwa and novel as well as the audiobook adaptation. The manhwa’s ninth volume comes out on August 18 and the novel’s fourth volume on September 15.
