Shen Jue and Xiahou Lian are finally in each other’s arms.
Seven Seas Entertainment revealed the final cover artwork for There’s Something Wrong with the Chief, illustrated by Zolaida. In comparison to the previous three volumes where both characters were featured on the cover but either they were not touching or they seemed to be in some kind of danger, this embrace is much softer and sweeter. This final volume has a new name on the production team with @/lsvvuu (L o s u) joining as the artist for the interior artwork. Faelicy translated the series.
The fantasy danmei series, written by Yang Su, follows Xiahou Lian, the youngest assassin of the Qiye Garden enclave, who awaits his mission as he poses as the servant of Xie Jinglan, the youngest son of the Xie family. He unexpectedly forms a friendship with Xie Jinglan–a connection that puts him at odds with the Qiye Garden. When the two reunite years later–with Xiahou Lian now the most wanted man in the country and Xie Jinglan as the governor of the Easter Depot–things have changed and the secrets they kept and are still keeping may drive too big of a wedge for them to overcome.

Although Xiahou Lian and Shen Jue have reunited, danger casts a shadow over their lives together. Xiahou Lian hasn’t managed to stamp out Qiye Garden, and under a new leader, that sinister enclave of assassins has become more bold. Xiahou Lian and Shen Jue’s allies have already begun to vanish, die, or turn against them. And making matters worse, the mysterious, debilitating “Paradise Fruit” has grown more and more entrenched in Great Qi.
Staving off Qiye Garden and eliminating the Paradise Fruit will require a journey into remote mountains blanketed with snow and riddled with foes. But as Xiahou Lian prepares to depart on the perilous quest, he’s unaware of the lengths Shen Jue will go to in order to keep him within reach.
The fourth and final volume of There’s Something Wrong with the Chief comes out on September 22.
