The light novel series The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore has inspired a television anime adaptation, animated and produced by CloverWorks. A PV has been dropped, opening with the setting of an idyllic village town before introducing the main characters Shioriko Shinokawa and Daisuke Gora who will be voiced by Riko Akechi and Shunsuke Takeuchi, respectively.

Mamoru Kambe will direct the anime adaptation with Ayako Kurata as the assistant director. Takahiro Obata will compose for the series with Toshiya Ono handling the series composition. Jun Nakai will not only design the character but will also serve as the chief animation director.

The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore had previously announced an anime film adaptation alongside a live-action film adaptation and television live-action drama series. The drama series was released in January 2013 with Ayame Goriki and Akira starring, and the film premiered in November 2018. Information about the animated film has not been released since the initial announcement.

Written by En Mikami with illustrations by Hagu Koshijima, The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore follows Shinokawa Shioriko who owns a bookshop and has the unique ability to solve mysteries from the smallest, most inconsequential, clues. She, along with Goura Daisuke, a young man who doesn’t like reading books because it makes him dizzy, work together to solve mysteries and unravel secrets to help people.

The light novel is published under ASCII Media Works’ imprint Media Works Bunko since March 2011. The series has inspired three manga adaptations with the first, illustrated by Nakano, launching in February 2012 and concluding with six volumes in July 2014. Ryo Koda illustrated the second adaptation that serialized from July 2012 to September 2013 and contains three volumes. The third one, illustrated by Haruki Niwa, currently has three volumes. There is currently no English translation for either the light novels or the manga adaptations.

The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore has earned nominations at the Mystery Writers of Japan Award and Japan Booksellers’ Award.

The anime will release in 2027.
