SSS-Class Revival Hunter Shocks with Anime Adaptation for January 2027

In just four months’ time, SSS-Class Revival Hunter will hit screens as an anime.

SSS-Class Revival Hunter announced an anime adaptation of the manhwa, simultaneously dropping a teaser visual and a teaser trailer. What’s more surprising is that the anime has already set its sights on a premiere window. Kim Gongja narrates, “Over 4,000 deaths and 4,000 days of regression. This is for my own entertainment.” The teaser introduces the voice actors for Kim Gongja and Sword Emperor as well as a teaser visual of the two in Kim Gongja’s room.

STUDIO fu will animate and produce the series. Hiroaki Sakurai will helm the series as the director, Sayuri Oba writing the scripts, and Takahiro Yoshimatsu will design the characters. Takeo Otsuka will portray Kim Gonja and Satoshi Hino will voice Sword Emperor.

Based on the original novel by Sinnoa, the story was adapted into a manhwa with Neida writing and Bill K illustrating the artwork. SSS-Class Revival Hunter debuted on Kakaopage on December 31, 2020 and has a total of 151 episodes. The English translation launched on Tapas on March 28, 2021. Ize Press has licensed the manhwa for a print release with four volumes available and the fifth coming out on December 8.

Season 5 was recently announced for a comeback on Kakaopage on September 25, although the date for the English comeback was not yet revealed.

In the mysterious, RPG dungeon-like Tower, Confucius Kim lives a mundane existence, envying all the star hunters. One day, his wish for more is granted with a legendary skill to copy others’ abilities… at the cost of his life. Before he can make sense of it, he’s killed by the #1 hunter, the Flame Emperor! But this activates his skill and now he’s copied a new one, the ability to travel back in time upon death. How will Confucius use these skills to outplay the competition and rise to the top?

Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore in January 2027.
