Long Beach Comic Con 2026 officially opened its doors from September 5-6 at the Long Beach Convention Center, welcoming fans for a weekend-long celebration of comics, cosplay, pop culture, and fandom. The event marked its first year under Nerd Street Events, the team behind Twin Cities Con, Des Moines Con, Central Florida Comic Con, and more.
The weekend featured a fan-focused lineup packed with special guests, Main Stage panels, special events, comic book exhibitors, screenings, cosplay programming, and visiting artists. Highlights included Main Stage conversations around Five Nights at Freddy’s, Pokémon, Phineas and Ferb, and Power Rangers, alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell-A-Bration, which celebrated the original live-action TMNT films of the 1990s.
The convention also featured its official costume contest, GeekFest film programming, discussions with comic book artists and publishers, cosplay workshops, and a wide range of panels and activities for fans of all ages.
“As we begin our first year operating the event, our goal is to honor Long Beach Comic Con’s history while bringing new energy, programming and opportunities for people to reconnect with the convention they love, or experience it for the first time,” said Ben Penrod, President and Owner of Nerd Street Events. “We want to give longtime attendees a reason to come back, invite a new generation of fans in and make Long Beach Comic Con a weekend the community can be proud to call its own.”
