Shonen Jump+ Ends Contract with Spy x Family Editor Shihei Lin

Shonen Jump+ has formally ended its contractual arrangements with prolific and well-known editor Shihei Lin.

The notice came from Shonen Jump+’s X, formerly known as Twitter account where they announced that they had ended all of its outsourcing of editorial and other services to Mix Green Co. Ltd., Shihei Lin’s new company, as well as contractual arrangements with Lin. Furthermore, the titles Lin had been in charge with will still continue to be serialized in Shonen Jump+ but will now have a new editorial structure. Not long after, Lin wrote on his X, formerly known as Twitter, account to acknowledge the termination. He stated that Mix Green Co. Ltd. had entered “into direct contracts” with the manga creators for Spy x Family, Dandadan, Centuria, and WITCHRIV and will “continue to handle editorial duties.” @/WSJ_manga provided the translation.

Lin worked at Shueisha in 2006 and worked there for nearly twenty years before he left in August 2022. A month after, he established his own company in September 2022 called Mix Green and launched its manga platform in April 2026. Since his departure from Shueisha, however, he has continued working for the publisher as a freelance editor. Lin is known for working on a number of popular manga such as Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Dandadan, and Black Torch.
