Roxana Reveals Scheduling Update and Season 2 Return

Roxana is back as of October 1 KST, and what’s more, the beloved manhwa will also continue with the second season next month.

Roxana recently announced that it would relaunch on a different publisher after leaving its first platform KakaoPage. The first 43 chapters of the first season will be released beginning on October 1 with Season 2 launching with Episode 43 on October 23. The schedule will be three weeks of chapters followed by a one week break due to Juniljus, the artist, wanting to focus on her child’s health. The artist posted about her return on X, formerly known as Twitter, and a beautiful illustration of Roxana against a scarlet background.

The artist also wrote a thread about her return. She first spoke about how it had been four years since Roxana‘s last chapter and she’d been agonizing over what to write. During the difficult times, she remembered all of the support and encouragement she received from other creators, fans, and friends. She wanted to keep her promise of returning soon and initially wanted to come back earlier but due to her child suffering from a rare disease, the return had to be pushed back.

She thanked the staff from RIDI for accommodating her and concluded her message by saying they would be doing their best to adapt the story to the end:

In August 2022, the artist had disputes with KakaoPage due to KakaoPage’s executive producer denying her a break despite Juniljus suffering a miscarriage not long before. As a result of the overwork and physical and mental exhaustion–sleeping only two hours a day and working every day–the artist was hospitalized. Not long after, she was informed that she would be assigned a new PD due to her old PD taking maternity leave for her own pregnancy. Since then, Roxana had been on hiatus for four years.

Roxana will come back with Season 2 on October 23 on RIDI. There is currently no news of a platform for the English translation due to Tapas’ imminent shutdown.
