Sailor Moon is getting her own theme park ride.
Universal Studios Japan announced Wednesday that it will collaborate with the iconic magical girl franchise for Universal Cool Japan 2027, the park’s annual limited-time event celebrating anime, manga, games, and pop culture. The Sailor Moon collaboration is the first confirmed for the 2027 iteration.
The centerpiece is a brand-new “Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon x Story Ride” —the first Sailor Moon theme park ride ever. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
The collaboration will also bring back the “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Place Chapter Deluxe” original short, which blends manga and CG animation. The short originally debuted during Universal Cool Japan 2019, with an updated “Deluxe” edition playing in 2022. It later screened at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Fan Fest Night earlier this year.
Fans can also expect themed food and merchandise as part of the collaboration.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Sailor Moon and Universal Studios Japan, following events in 2018, 2019, and 2022.
