The second volume of Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea is enthralling to look at.
Seven Seas Entertainment revealed the cover art for the second volume of the Korean novel Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea. The second volume sees an artist change from Ryeomi to JiyuB who has a more defined line style compared to Ryeomi whose art is a little more blurry. The cover features Muhyeon looking back with a look of despair as he walks up a flight of stairs. Soyo Hong and Josh Shin worked together on the translation.

The novel, written by Softcoral, was originally published in 2022 by Munpia and contains 422 chapters. Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea was the grand prize winner in the webnovel category of the SF Awards in 2022 and the fantasy novel category in the 2022 and 2023 Ridi Awards.
The story follows the chaos that ensues when the North Pacific International Undersea Station gets flooded. Muhyeon, a dentist who was hoping to live a life of peace underwater, now finds himself in a place where he must kill the people he called colleagues and friends–or be killed.
The synopsis for the second volume is as follows:
Seawater is pouring into the North Pacific International Undersea Station. Sabotaged by a fanatical cult, the base is flooding fast and crawling with armed men as the crushing pressure outside begins to force its way in.
Trapped far beneath the surface, Muhyeon and a small group of Korean survivors are driven into a brutal race through a maze of destruction, where every wrong turn feels like it could be their last. Thrown into a world where hesitation means death, Muhyeon feels his grip on reality slipping with every step.
When the chaos culminates in a shocking tragedy no one could have foreseen, the base’s inhabitants find themselves in much greater peril—and time is not on their side.
The second volume comes out on September 22.
