Ryokuoushoku Shakai Releases New Album Atamago, Marking a New Chapter for the Japanese Pop-Rock Band

Japanese four-member band Ryokuoushoku Shakai has returned with their sixth original album, Atamago, marking their first full-length release since 2025’s Channel U. The album is available now on all streaming platforms.

The title Atamago reflects the band’s creative philosophy: music born from their own thoughts, ideas, and emotions, transformed as if to have a new life of its own. Continuing their distinctive approach of having all four members contribute to the songwriting process, the band pushed their sound even further on Atamago.

The album features 12 tracks, including six previously released songs and six brand-new numbers, showcasing the band’s versatility across a diverse range of musical styles. Several songs were created for prominent tie-in projects, including “Riding the wind,” the theme song for the theatrical anime L’étoile de Paris en fleur.

The album’s visual identity was developed by art director Motoko Marui, with the cover artwork built around an illustration that echoes the raw emotions and impulses at the heart of the album’s title.

The release comes just one year after another major milestone in the band’s international journey. Following last year’s Asia tour, the album marks a new step in their growing presence beyond Japan. With Atamago, Ryokuoushoku Shakai continue to bring their distinctive take on contemporary Japanese pop-rock to an ever-growing international audience.

Ryokuoushoku Shakai has consistently released hit songs, including “Mela!” (400 million streams), “Be a flower” (200 million streams), and both “Character” and “Summer Time Cinderella” (100 million streams each). The album is available now.
