If wishes could kill

Netflix’s first Korean YA horror series is getting ready to launch.

If Wishes Could Kill follows a group of high schoolers whose lives are changed when they download an app called Girigo that grants their wishes–but for a price. The trailer begins in the classroom where a fellow classmate tries to convince Hyeong-wook to put down his X-ACTO knife but Hyeong-wook seems to be in a trance until all of a sudden he charges at Yoo Se-ah. The terms of the app seems to require the person to write their date of birth, hold it up to the camera and say their wish before hitting send.

The series focuses on five friends, Yoo Se-ah (Jeon Soyoung), a promising track star, Lim Na Ri (Kang Mina), Se-ah’s popular friend, Se-ah’s boyfriend Kim Geon-woo (Baek Sunho), the genius strategist Kang Ha-joon (Hyun Wooseok), and Choi Hyeong-wook (Lee Hyo-je) who was introduced in the teaser. Park Youn-seo will direct with Park Joong-seop writing the script.

If Wishes Could Kill will stream on Netflix on April 24.
