Mrs. GREEN APPLE Unveil “Kyohan” Music Video from New Album POPS

Japanese rock band MGA (Mrs. GREEN APPLE) has unveiled the official music video for “Kyohan,” a track from their newly released sixth full-length studio album, POPS, available now via EMI Records / Universal Music Japan.

Bursting with color and pure joy, the “Kyohan” video finds MGA performing in a bright, pastel world filled with playful costumes and larger-than-life theatrical elements. As the visual unfolds, the curtain is pulled back to reveal something much different beyond the set, creating an unexpected contrast that adds another layer to the song’s euphoric energy.

The new visual follows the September 30 release of the music video for album track “A・Posteriori,” an upbeat pop-rock track with an indie edge. Lyrically, the song takes aim at ego, hypocrisy, and the masks people wear.

Marking the defining release of MGA’s Phase 3, POPS captures the remarkable breadth of one of Japan’s biggest bands. At its core, the album reimagines what “mainstream” can mean in a world where musical tastes and listening habits are more diverse than ever. Rather than searching for one sound designed to reach everyone, MGA embrace the many ways people connect with music.

The arrival of POPS is being celebrated with major global partnerships:

  • YouTube: In a first for a Japanese artist, YouTube introduced a custom-designed seek bar across eligible videos on MGA’s official channel, turning the progress bar green and featuring the band’s signature green apple icon through October 28. YouTube is also bringing POPS to the streets with an international outdoor advertising campaign spanning seven cities across six countries.
  • TikTok: The platform launched a global in-app experience inviting fans to explore the world of POPS through a dedicated album hub, interactive activities, exclusive profile frames, and a community challenge unlocking special content.

POPS arrives following a landmark period for MGA. The trio ranked #13 on the IFPI Global Artist Chart, becoming the highest-charting Japanese artist on the list. Earlier this year, they wrote and performed “Brand New,” the official Japanese theme song for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Their live success has been equally remarkable. MGA recently completed their largest-ever stadium tour, “ZENJIN MITO TO IM/MUTABLE,” drawing 390,000 fans across six performances, including four shows at MUFG Stadium. The tour finale reached an additional 250,000 viewers through livestreaming and screenings at more than 360 cinemas.

MGA has embarked on their first nationwide arena tour in approximately three years, spanning 28 performances across 13 cities in Japan. The Ringo Jam Tour “SHADOWS” runs through late December.

POPS is available now on all major streaming platforms. With global partnerships, a record-breaking year, and a massive tour underway, Mrs. GREEN APPLE continues to redefine what a modern Japanese band can achieve.
