NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan—the studio behind HELLSING, Seraph of the End, Berserk, and Golden Kamuy—is bringing some serious heat to Anime Expo 2026.
The company’s panel, titled “WORLD PREMIERE: ‘From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman’ Season 2 & Beyond,” takes place Saturday, July 4 from 12:00 PM to 1:20 PM in Room 409 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
What to Expect
- World Premiere Screening – Be the first to see From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2, presented with director Akio Kazumi and producer Ryo Hino in attendance.
- Major Reveals – Updates on Suikoden: The Anime, A Certain Dark Item, Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2, and more.
- Exclusive Giveaways – Limited-edition items for attendees.
Why This Panel Matters
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman follows Beryl, an aging instructor who just wants a quiet life teaching swordsmanship—only to discover he’s accidentally become the most dangerous person in the room. The first season was a sleeper hit, blending action with genuine heart. Season 2 is one of the more anticipated returning shows of the year.
Beyond that, NBCUniversal’s slate is stacked. Suikoden is a beloved RPG franchise getting the anime treatment. Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 continues the spy-family chaos. And A Certain Dark Item remains something of a mystery—which makes the reveal at this panel even more intriguing.
For fans of action, fantasy, and long-running franchises, NBCUniversal’s panel is essential. A world premiere, multiple major reveals, and giveaways? Block out your Saturday afternoon.
