Manta has awarded fans’ patience with the announcement of the Season 2 premiere of The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low.
It’s June, which means it’s Pride Month, which means LGBTQ+ stories will be at the forefront. Manta revealed in their June line-up a number of BL stories such as Step on Me, My Prince!, Mismatch Guide, A Life Without You, as well as returning favorites Meet Me Halfway and, likely a lot of fans’ most anticipated read, Season 2 of The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low. The series had already made a comeback on Ridi, the Korean platform, earlier on January 13 and it took six months for the English serialization.

Based on the original story by 103, former S-rank Hunter Uijae was tasked to seal a rift but found himself in a garbage dump after doing so. Starving, he enters a hangover soup restaurant only to discover that he’s going eight years into the future where not only has Korea entered a period of peace… but Uijae, aka J, is presumed dead. Well, that works fine for him. He’d rather work at this restaurant than go back to the Hunter life. Unfortunately for him, he can’t quite escape his past when the country’s top Hunter Sayoung finds him and refuses to leave him alone.
The webnovel was first serialized on February 22, 2023 with 144 chapters for part 1 and 218 chapters for part 2. The epilogue consists of three chapters and side stories 25 chapters. The novel was adapted into a manhwa with MAGMA as the writer and Iigong and Aurora STUDIO illustrating and has seen considerable success.
Season 1 of The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low premiered on March 3, 2025 on the manhwa and webnovel platform Manta and concluded on June 23 with 35 episodes.
Fans can read Season 1 in English on Manta.
