The world kinda needs more BDSM stories.
Manga Mavericks has announced the English license for Tie Me Up, Stare Me Down, a BDSM-themed manga that will be released as a complete omnibus volume in May 2027. The manga was written and illustrated by Zawayuki Taki and was first serialized on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website in March 2024 before concluding in May 2025. It was published as three tankobon volumes in Japan.
The official English release meant a significant amount to the mangaka who had spent years watching their work being introduced to English publishers but not see it come to fruition.
“Something I had nearly given up on became reality because of people who never gave up on this work. It truly means so much to me,” the mangaka wrote in a thank-you note which included a special illustration of the queen of the bar herself. “I’m simply happy that the series can finally reach readers in an official English edition.”

Sawada finds himself crushed by the responsibilities and expectations that come with being in charge of the sales and marketing department of a grocery store chain. One night, when looking for a place to drink and relax, he spots a sign for a “Fetish Bar.” Upon opening the doors to this bar, he’s greeted by the sight of women in bondage! When Nana, the queen of the bar, gives him “special” care, Sawada experiences a sense of liberation and pleasure he never thought possible.
The world of dominating and being dominated unfurls at the sound of a whip and the sensation of a rope tightening.
Tie Me Up, Stare Me Down comes out in May 2027.
