Inklore Announces Winter Manhwa Debuts: Eleceed and Her Tale of Shim Chong

Following a successful appearance at New York Comic Con, Inklore is set to release two full-color Korean manhwa series this winter—and both are worth adding to your reading list.

Eleceed, Volume 1 – January 19, 2027

From creators Jeho Son and ZHENA, Eleceed is a fantasy action-adventure manhwa that’s already generating buzz ahead of its anime adaptation in April. The story follows a high school boy who loves taking care of stray cats—and who has been hiding his own super-speed powers. When he crosses paths with a cranky, chonky cat who is actually one of the most powerful Awakened humans in hiding, he winds up with a grumpy feline mentor who wields the superpower of electricity. It’s a premise that promises equal parts heart and high-voltage action.

Her Tale of Shim Chong, Volume 1 – February 2, 2027

From seri and biwan, Her Tale of Shim Chong is a sapphic reimagining of a classic Korean folktale—and a welcome addition to the growing popularity of the Girls’ Love genre in the U.S. The story follows Shim Chong, who has grown cynical and jaded from a life of poverty while caring for her blind father. In a chance encounter, she rescues a beautiful young woman floating in the river just before the woman’s forced marriage to a nobleman twice her age. What follows is a story of two women empowering each other to be bold in the face of oppression and choose their own destiny.

Both titles arrive from Inklore this winter, and both bring something distinct to the table: one a high-energy fantasy with a cat who might just be the most powerful being in the room, the other a quietly powerful sapphic retelling of a classic tale. Mark your calendars for January 19 and February 2.
