What happens when a demi-human dark summoner and a serious priest end up in the same adventuring party? Everyone expects them to clash. No one expects them to spend the night together.
HIDIVE announced that the short-form anime adaptation of Shaoh’s popular fantasy rom-com manga, I’m Dating a Dark Summoner, will premiere this October as part of the streamer’s Fall 2026 simulcast season.
The series follows Amona, a demi-human dark summoner who struggles to resist her desires, and Roni, an overly serious priest who welcomes her into his adventuring party. Against all expectations, their first day together ends with a passionate one-night stand.
Seiya Miyajima (BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico) serves as director and series composer, with Takahiro Sasaki handling character design. Production comes from WWWave Corporation’s Deregula animation studio. Cast includes Rei Takano as Amona, Yuki Nishiyama as Roni, and Hoden-tei Senmai as Imp.
The series streams exclusively on HIDIVE in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Short-form anime is an emerging trend, and I’m Dating a Dark Summoner fits the mold with its snappy premise and fantasy rom-com chaos. Keep an eye out this October.
