This cover of Hidden Love will make your heart flutter.
Seven Seas unveiled the cover for Zhi Yu’s Hidden Love, the coming-of-age romance about a school girl’s crush on her brother’s best friend. The cover was designed by MORNCOLOUR and depicts the softness of falling in love for the first time when you’re a teenager with Sang Zhi at her desk and awkwardly waving to Duan Jiaxu who offers a kind smile. Outside, spring is in full swing with cherry blossoms blooming.

Hidden Love had previously inspired a Chinese live-action television series that aired in 2023 for 25 episodes. Zhao Lusi starred as Sang Zhi and Chen Zheyuan portrayed Duan Jiaxu. Victor Ma played Sang Zhi’s older brother Sang Yan. Directed by Lee Ching Jung with Shen Fei Xian writing the screenplay, the drama garnered praise for the chemistry between the two leads and can be viewed on Youku or Netflix.
Seven Seas describes the synopsis as below:
Sang Zhi is thirteen, top of her class, endlessly feisty, and completely uninterested in romance. In fact, her biggest talent seems to be driving her older brother crazy. Then she meets Duan Jiaxu, her brother’s college roommate.
Warm, teasing, and impossibly kind, Duan Jiaxu treats her like the little sister she insists she isn’t. For the first time, she finds herself lingering in doorways, plotting ridiculous schemes, and guarding a secret crush she knows she shouldn’t have. Time passes. Life pulls them apart.
Years later, in college, a chance reunion brings them face-to-face again. Yet Sang Zhi is no longer the awkward girl he remembers. As old feelings resurface, she begins to wonder whether the boy who once saw her as a child might finally see her differently…or if some distances can never truly be crossed.
Hidden Love will release its first volume on August 4.
