Heated Rivalry is one of the titles leading the nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards.

The standout queer hockey show has received 18 nominations at the CSA, a ceremony that recognizes excellence in Canadian film, television, and digital media. For the first time this year, only Canadian citizens and permanent residents can be considered for the Canadian Screen Awards–following controversy after three of the top acting awards went to non-Canadians in 2025, effectively shutting out Connor Storrie from nominations.

While fans might be a little upset about that, with 18 nominations, Heated Rivalry is the fourth most-nominated series in the history of the CSA and with the series and source material being stoutly Canadian, this recognition highlights how the world should pay attention to Canadian talent.
