What does it mean to be beautiful?
Bless will seek to poke and prod at this question in the anime adaptation. Character teaser videos were also dropped, introducing Tomohiro Ono as Aia Udagawa and Chiyuki Miura as Jun Sumisaki. In her character video, Aia is shown putting on make-up for Jun and gets astonished by what he sees. Jun is shy and saves Aia from getting hit by a car in her character PV but is shown to be a cheerful young woman. A key visual of Jun was also revealed.

A-1 Pictures will helm the adaptation with Shotaro Kitamura directing. Kitamura recently wrapped up directing Too Many Losing Heroines!. Takayuki Kikuchi will serve as the assistant director and Fukurou Kamiza will write and oversee the scripts. Ryo Yoshimata will compose the music.
Written and illustrated by Yukino Sonoyama, Bless debuted in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge in January 2022 before moving to Monthly Shonen Sirius in December 2023. The manga follows Aia Udagawa, a first. year at Aoiyama High, who dreams of becoming a makeup artist but feels discouraged when nobody around him supports his dream. When he and shy classmate Jun, who longs to be a model, get paired for a runway show at the school, the two unlock each other’s potential in an unexpected way.
Bless has also inspired a live-action adaptation which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2027.
Kodansha describes Bless as below:
They said Aia was destined to be a model, and Jun was bullied for her freckles. Together, they will take back the power to define themselves in an inspirational fashion manga that asks cutting questions about what it really means to be beautiful—and what it takes to overcome an arbitrary system that seems to respect talent over hard work.
Bless will premiere in January 2027.
