Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea Reveals Cover for Vol. 3

Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea will send Muhyeon into more danger.

Seven Seas Entertainment revealed the cover for the third volume of Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea which features Muhyeon standing in a washroom, examining all of the injuries on his body in the mirror with a contemplative look. An orange clip adorns his left ear. JiyuB illustrated the cover artwork. Josh Shin worked on the translation for the third volume; Soyo Hong who previously worked on the translation with Shin was not listed for Vol. 3

The novel, written by Softcoral, was originally published in 2022 by Munpia and contains 422 chapters. Beacon of Light in the Dark Sea was the grand prize winner in the webnovel category of the SF Awards in 2022 and the fantasy novel category in the 2022 and 2023 Ridi Awards.

The story follows the chaos that ensues when the North Pacific International Undersea Station gets flooded. Muhyeon, a dentist who was hoping to live a life of peace underwater, now finds himself in a place where he must kill the people he called colleagues and friends–or be killed.

The synopsis for the third volume is as follows:

For Muhyeon and the other survivors, escape from the undersea station is within reach—until they’re hurled back into despair. Muhyeon snaps awake early that morning, reliving the horrific day for a third time.

To prevent further tragedy, he taps into the stationwide broadcast system and addresses the entire base, exposing the sabotage condemning innocents to a watery grave.

The announcement sends ripples throughout the station, disrupting conspiracies and shifting alliances. New threats emerge, and Muhyeon’s actions may have just made him the target of the station’s most desperate and depraved.

The third volume of Beacon of Light in the Dark will release on January 12, 2027.
