It’s real. The live-action adaptation of the very cute baihe manhua She Is Still Cute Today is actually happening.
Tencent Video and the Weibo account for the live-action adaptation of She Is Still Cute Today dropped the teaser trailer. The trailer opens with the cold and studious Cang Shu who is miffed that her number one spot is taken by another student in her class. Her best friend, Qi Lin, is the opposite of her: playful, loud, not academically gifted, but incredibly supportive of Cang Shu. Their friendship grows into something more.
The drama stars Sun Mei Lin as Cang Shu and Zhu Lin Yu as Qi Lin. Wu Hai will portray Cui Xin and Xie An Ran as Luo Yi Si.
Written and illustrated by Guo Si Te, She Is Still Cute Today currently has three printed volumes in Chinese. TOKYOPOP describes the story with the first volume coming out on October 13.
Cang Shu is the top student in her grade at a prestigious high school. She’s always focused on studying, which is why she finds it supremely annoying when suddenly there are rumors all around school about her and the #1 boy in class, Cui Xin. Cang Shu has no interest in dating, but no one seems to believe her. In order to stave off the rumor mill, Cang Shu instead decides to declare that she’s interested in the lowest-ranked student in their grade: Qi Lin. One thing she definitely did not count on when making this declaration? Qi Lin was right behind her and heard everything. And now Cang Shu has this clumsy, bottom-ranked girl following her around all the time! Will this accidental entanglement end up bringing these very different girls together?
The live-action launched today on Tencent, but there is no word yet of an international streaming platform.
