Fans need not fret about the end of Though I Am an Inept Villainess as the second cour is currently in production.
Shortly after the last episode of the first cour, Though I Am an Inept Villainess has announced that the second cour, which is called “The First Royal Outing,” will premiere sometime in January 2027. A main visual was released to celebrate this announcement. Along with the news, three additional voice actors were announced, introducing Kou Reirin’s two older brothers Keikou and Keishou who will be voiced by Yuichi Nakamura and Shunichi Toki, respectively. Chiaki Kobayashi will also join the cast as Unran.
Doga Kobo animated and produced the anime adaptation with Mitsue Yamazaki directing. Yoshiko Nakamura oversaw the series composition with Ai Kikuchi handling the character designs. Yukari Hashimoto composed the music. Originally set to premiere in April 2026, the anime was pushed to later for a July premiere due to production issues.
Written by Satsuki Nakamura, the light novel began serialization on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in July 2020 before being released as a physical edition in December 2020 with Kana Yuki illustrating the artwork. The light novel inspired a manga adaptation with Ei Ohitsuji, launching in December 2020. Seven Seas publishes both the light novel and manga.
