A dark masked-battle fantasy is preparing to make its mark this fall.
The Vermilion Mask has revealed its main promotional video and full Japanese voice cast ahead of the anime adaptation’s premiere in October 2026. The series is written by Dr. Poro and illustrated by Nabana Naba, currently serialized as a manga in Young King OURs from Shonen Gahousha.
The Cast
- Peru d’Arrest – Taihi Kimura (recently announced as the voice of Chihiro Rokuhira in Kagurabachi) brings to life a mask craftsman haunted by the past in which he killed his own master.
- Sonarue Maywood – Yuuki Yamamoto voices the former princess who travels alongside Peru.
- Mok Sharib – Kazuki Ura (voice of Taki in Your Name.) wields The Mask of Smoke.
- Gouon – Takanori Hoshino voices the ruler of Lisblanc, renowned as the world’s strongest swordsman.
- Totoque – Wataru Komada voices a member of Lisblanc’s Governance Guard.
- Zent – Junya Enoki voices Peru’s former senior pupil.
- Gaston – Kazuhiko Inoue voices the legendary mask craftsman.
- Mask of the Warrior God – Akio Otsuka takes on one of Gaston’s greatest masterpieces.
Taihi Kimura reflected on his role: “The past that Peru carries—and is held captive by—is so heavy that it is more than one young man could ever bear alone. Rather than simply empathizing with Peru, I approached the recording with the feeling of shouldering his past together with him.”
Akio Otsuka offered a wry take on the Mask of the Warrior God: “I intend to torment the protagonist with all my heart and soul. For now he’s the strongest enemy, but who knows how things will turn out from here… I look forward to following the story and getting swept up in it together with all of you! Ah… I’m going to be hated again, lol.”
The Storyline
The Vermilion Mask is a masked-battle fantasy where characters face powerful foes, regret, and a cruel fate. Peru, a pupil of a legendary mask maker, has a dark history of being controlled by a powerful mask and unintentionally killing his friends and master. Determined to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, he embarks on a journey to destroy all of his master’s masks spread across the world.
