The Forgotten Field, written by the Under the Oak Tree novelist, has been reimagined into a manhwa.
The romantasy novel The Forgotten Field, set in the same universe as Under the Oak Tree but takes place years before that story begins, was adapted into a manhwa and launched on May 4 at 10 PM KST. Prior to the debut, Kakaopage dropped some preview images of the artwork which included the looks of Thalia and Varkas as well as some of the key scenes from the novel.

Written by Kim Suji, The Forgotten Field follows an illegitimate princess named Talia who has been treated poorly by everyone–her parents, her half-siblings, and the servants. In response, she throws up iron walls to protect herself but the one and only time she lets her defences down is in front of Prince Varkas. Unfortunately for her, Varkas decides to get married to Thalia’s half-sister to keep a promise to the late empress, thus breaking Thalia’s heart.
The Forgotten Field launched on April 19, 2025 and is currently ongoing with 236 chapters. The webnovel has generated close to 21 million views.
Spoon has previously illustrated the manhwa adaptations of Who Made Me a Princess? and the prequel King the Land. The artist posted a few artwork for The Forgotten Field on their social media account which can be viewed below:
