The next Korean rom-com is on the horizon and it will send literal sparks.
Take Charge of My Heart, the drama adaptation of the webnovel Charge Me Up, has dropped the teaser trailer and key visual for the upcoming series. The teaser shows Na Bo-bae gaining electrical powers after getting struck by lightning as a child. Due to her powers, she stays far away from people for fear of electrocuting them. The one person who seems to not only be immune to her powers but actually needs them is third-generation chaebol heir Baek Ho-rang. Ho-rang has an artificial heart but the battery is running dangerously low and he’ll need Bo-bae’s help to help recharge it until he can get his surgery in three months.

So the two strike up a deal: Bo-bae will help Ho-rang if Ho-rang will help her complete her “romance bucket list” for her writer’s contract.
The drama will have Park Soo-won helming as the director with NEW POINT and WHYNOT MEDIA producing. Song You-chae will write the script. Take Charge of My Heart stars Kim Young-kwang as Baek Ho-rang and Chae Soo-bin as Na Bo-bae.
An English translation of the novel is not available. The drama will launch exclusively on Netflix on October 9.
