SEVENTEEN’s JxJ Release 1st Mini Album DREAMSCAPE with Lead Single “12 o’clock”

SEVENTEEN has a new unit. JEONGHAN and JOSHUA have officially debuted as JxJ, releasing their first mini album, DREAMSCAPE, today.

DREAMSCAPE portrays a mesmerizing “landscape of dreams” where subconscious illusions and real-world ideals constantly overlap and collide. Across 7 tracks, the album turns the unfamiliar beauty discovered at the intersection of these two realms into an immersive sonic experience. JEONGHAN and JOSHUA showcase an expanded vocal spectrum, shifting from their signature delicate timbres to deeper, more mature registers.

The lead single, “12 o’clock,” is a dance-rock track that modernly reinterprets 1970s and 80s disco and funk. Driven by the duo’s languid yet alluring vocals, the track describes searching for “you”—intentionally left open to interpretation as a lover, a goal, or a dream itself—while fluidly traveling between midnight and noon.

The music video brings the storyline to life, following the duo’s dreamlike pursuit of their ideals. Set against a mysterious, eerie mise-en-scène with cool, subdued hues, the narrative features a mythical creature—a fusion of a peacock and the ancient Ouroboros—as a metaphor for traversing boundaries between reality and fantasy. Cinematic visual direction surrealistically twists everyday spaces, presenting striking imagery of a railway cutting through an open field, a strangely twisted train car, and endless rooms with no escape.

The album weaves a cyclical universe from start to finish:

  1. “Like you” – Dreamy house track
  2. “Outside” – Urban sunshine house
  3. “One plus one” – Candid R&B/Soul
  4. “Not personal (JOSHUA Solo)” – Alternative rock, co-written and co-composed by JOSHUA
  5. “Coloring (JEONGHAN Solo)” – Electro-house, featuring JEONGHAN’s own lyricism
  6. “No looking back” – Raw band sound, framing the shattering of a dream as an act of pure romance
  7. “12 o’clock” – Lead single

JxJ will take DREAMSCAPE on the road with ‘JEONGHAN X JOSHUA JOURNEY INTO [DREAMING]’ , starting with three shows in Incheon from October 30 to November 1, followed by Saitama, Macau, Taipei, Busan, and Hong Kong.

DREAMSCAPE is out now on all major streaming platforms. With a dreamlike concept, a genre-spanning tracklist, and solo showcases from both members, JxJ’s first mini album is a must-listen for SEVENTEEN fans. Catch them on tour if you can—this is a dream worth chasing.
