A new chapter, exclusively written for the Seven Seas edition of Joyful Reunion, is coming.
Seven Seas Entertainment, one of the leading publishers of danmei in the English language market, revealed the cover for the sixth and final volume of Joyful Reunion. The cover features Duan Ling and Wu Du against the full moon. The last volume will also include an exclusive new chapter from Fei Tian Ye Xiang. Porridge illustrated the gorgeous cover while Ruthie will illustrate the artwork inside the book. Mimi, Suika, and yunyun worked on the translation, with a special thanks to Foxghost.
Written by Fei Tian Ye Xiang, or Arise Zhang, Joyful Reunion follows Duan Ling, a young boy who has been abused and mistreated ever since he can remember. One day, a mysterious man named Lang Junxia arrives at his deceased mother’s family’s home, claiming that Duan Ling’s father, whom he has never known, had sent him… and that he would be able to finally meet his father. It turns out that Duan Ling’s destiny is far greater than he imagined–one that carries the weight of the empire on his shoulders.
The synopsis of the sixth volume is as follows:
Duan Ling and Wu Du return to the capital as mourners from across the land converge on the city for the emperor’s grand funeral. Among them are Duan Ling’s greatest adversaries: Prime Minister Mu Kuangda, General Han Bin, and the false crown prince Cai Yan. As his enemies plot to grasp the throne for themselves, they have no idea Duan Ling is waiting in the wings to overturn everything they’ve schemed for…if he isn’t discovered first.
The closer the funeral draws, the more dangerous the game becomes. Yet Duan Ling can no longer hide in the shadows, protected by Wu Du. He must risk everything to step forward before the nation and claim his birthright as crown prince of the realm—or die in the attempt.
