Rosmei is finally expanding into the US with physical prints.
Kinokuniya announced on its X, formerly known as Twitter, account that two of Rosmei’s works will now be made available at Kinokuniya stores. Each book will include a printed blurbs, a bonus postcard, and a bookmark, exclusive to Kinokuniya. These versions will also not include a dust jacket and, according to Rosmei, most copies will use character illustration covers.
Currently, the two volumes of The Killer of Killers and first volume of Art Thou Ailing? are available at the Kinokuniya stores.
Rosmei offered a note of thanks to its supporters and readers:
After three years of publishing danmei novels, we are delighted to finally take a major step forward in collaborating with physical bookstores.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the readers who have supported us since the very beginning. Without your encouragement and trust, we would never have been able to achieve what we have today.
We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to Publang, who has worked closely with us over the past two years and provided invaluable assistance with the distribution of our books. In addition, our heartfelt appreciation goes to Kino for giving us this wonderful opportunity to bring our titles into physical stores.
Kinokuniya previously announced that they have discontinued the distribution of Mandarin novels.
The two Kinokuniya titles are also notably the first two Rosmei titles that can be read online on Publang’s platform, the partnership which was announced just last month. Rosmei has teased that “future expansion to other platforms” will be announced next year.
In the past, it has been extremely difficult to purchase the physical prints of Rosmei titles if you weren’t from Singapore due to JJWXC only authorizing publishing rights in that country. As a result, readers had to resort to third-party sellers to buy Rosmei novels which often resulted in hefty shipping fees, not to mention the conversion rate from SGD to the reader’s currency.
With the Publang partnership for online reading distribution and Kinokuniya partnership, it appears as though Rosmei is looking to expand its global distribution and accessibility.
