Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint will be taking a break before concluding the first season.
The popular webcomic Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint will be taking a short break next week on May 6 to ensure the next chapter is of the utmost highest quality. The announcement comes at the end of the most recent chapter, Chapter 309. In addition, Chapter 311 will mark the end of the first season of ORV. The production team asked fans for their patience as they worked to adapt the webcomic so that it would be as faithful as possible to the original novel.

The webcomic debuted on May 26, 2020 and has been serializing for close to six years with the team rarely taking a hiatus. The news was met with an overwhelming wave of fan support as they thanked the manhwa team for their hard work.
Based on a novel written by singNsong, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint follows Kim Dokja who is the only reader who has stuck with the novel Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse for 10 years. When he reaches the ending, Kim Dokja receives a mysterious message from the author. Suddenly, the novel becomes a reality and he must now harness his knowledge of the book to navigate the events and survive. He teams up with the novel’s protagonist Yoo Joonghyuk in the hopes the two may be able to change the original novel’s plot.
A live-action film adaptation was released on July 23, 2025, called Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, but was met with an overwhelming negative reception, the criticism mainly revolving around the film’s failure to be accurate to the original novel. An anime adaptation was announced back in Anime Expo 2024 but no other information has been announced.
The English translation of ORV can be read on WEBTOON. Published by Ize Press, the manhwa and the webnovel can be read in print.
