A historical story about twin sisters whose destinies are connected to two very different people will come to life in a live-action series.

As per Naver, a webcomic, literally translated to Nameless Lantern, will be adapted into a live-action drama. Offers have been extended for the lead roles to Won Ji An and Chae Jonghyeop. Both actors are positively considering the roles and if accepted, Won will play the twins while Chae will play Lee Hyo, the king’s second son, who has outstanding martial arts skills.

Created by Lee Jae, Nameless Lantern debuted in August 2020 and follows twin sisters where one sister’s destiny is entwined with a king and the other with a traitor. As the two navigate the political turbulence of their paths, their decisions can determine whether they can light the way in the world or burn it to ashes. Unfortunately, the series was discontinued after around 40 episodes.

Won made her television debut as Moon Young-ok in D.P. and Joo In-hae in the 2023 series Heartbeat. She gained global recognition as Se-mi in the second season of Squid Game and most recently, starred in Surely Tomorrow as Seo Ji-woo. Chae made his debut as King Sejong in Webtoon Hero – Tundra Show 2, but it wasn’t until he starred in Love All Play as Park Tae-joon that he gained more recognition, and consequently won “Best New Actor” at the 2022 KBS Drama Awards. Most recently, he starred in In Your Radiant Season

There is currently no English translation for the Nameless Lantern webtoon and no news about a release window for the drama.
