Miyo and Kiyoka are finally going to get married but that doesn’t mean their road to the wedding will be easy and eventless.

Kadokawa Animation released the main trailer for My Happy Marriage and gives a little more insight as to what fans can expect in the three special episodes. Miyo and Kiyoka are both excited and nervous for their marriage, but their happy ending might have to wait a little longer as an unexpected obstacle comes in their way. The trailer also showcases the opening theme song “Shiawasede Namidagaderunowa” performed by riria.

Reina Ueda will return to voice Miyo as well as Kaito Ishikawa will reprise his role as Kiyoka. Hiro Shimono will voice Yoshito Godou, Yoko Hikasa as Hazuki Kudou, M・A・O as Kimio Nagaba, and Toshinari Fukamachi as Kazushi Tatsuishi.

The series follows an alternative version of the 19th century Meiji Restoration era where Miyo Saimori is married off to Kiyoka, a soldier whose ruthless and cold personality has been known to chase off his brides. With her life back at home an abusive one with her stepmother and stepsister, Miyo resigns herself to yet another unloving family but discovers her fiancé isn’t like what the rumours say.

The anime ended with Miyo awakening as a dream maiden. Due to a conspiracy, Miyo and Kiyoka were forced to separate but have reunited and have learned to trust each other completely. The special episodes will focus on Miyo and Kiyoka’s approaching wedding and when Miyo’s classmate, Kimio Hongo, casts a spell to make Miyo happy, things go awry.

My Happy Marriage first premiered in 2023 and quickly became a standout romance title thanks to its blend of gentle emotion, atmospheric worldbuilding, and compelling character growth. The first season snagged numerous nominations at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and when Season 2 premiered in 2025, the soundtrack won “Best Music” at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival.

The anime is based on the light novel series by Akumi Agitogi with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, published in Japan by KADOKAWA. English editions of the novels are available via Yen Press, while the manga adaptation is released by Square Enix Manga & Books.

All three special episodes will launch on Netflix on October 25.
