MAMAMOO leader Solar revealed she was attacked during a recent trip to Los Angeles, sustaining a bruise after a stranger threw a chair at her.
Solar, fellow member Moonbyul, and several team members were working in Los Angeles when they walked down an alley. A man holding a chair threw it in the direction of the group, hitting Solar while cursing at them in English.
Solar shared the details on a livestream: “I had never experienced anything like that in my life. I think he was acting pretty strangely. He was a complete stranger—I didn’t know him at all.” After she was hit, the group’s two managers stepped in to stop the man, who then left.
Left shaken by the experience, Solar could only question what happened. She revealed that she ended up with a bruise on her leg, which has since faded. She did not indicate whether the person was unhoused.
Homelessness remains a major challenge in Los Angeles. Despite the city spending billions to address the issue, recent estimates show approximately 45,000 unhoused individuals living in the city, with around 73,000 across the county.
