JJWXC Lists Top Danmei Titles With Highest Licensing Fees

The top two danmei with the highest licensing fees probably shouldn’t surprise anyone.

At the Jinjiang Authors’ Conference held on August 22, JJWXC revealed their list of titles with the highest licensing fees which includes but is not limited to danmei. Two Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s titles were at the top with Mo Dao Zu Shi or The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and Tian Guan Ci Fu or Heaven Official’s Blessing at the billion RMB level. Sa Ye or Run Wild was the closest to matching the two works at close to a billion RMB.

The titles that cost tens of millions RMB is as follows:

• The Defectives
• Wait For Me After School
• Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire
• A Certain Someone
• The First Frost (non-danmei)
• Panguan
• Poyun
• Tunhai
• Ballad of Sword and Wine
• Global Examination
• Hidden Love (non-danmei)
• 无污染、无公害 (roughly translates to No Pollution, No Public Nuisance. Written by Priest but a non-danmei)
• Fake Slackers

Many of the works have already been licensed and published in English with Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, Heaven Official’s Blessing, Run Wild, Ballad of Sword and Wine, Panguan, and Hidden Love licensed by Seven Seas.

Rosmei has licensed The Defectives, Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire, and Global Examination for print while Poyun or A Break in the Clouds, Tun Hai or Hunt for the Leviathan have been licensed for physical and digital releases.

Hai Tang Books has licensed Wait For Me After School and A Certain Someone for print release.
