Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest

Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest is taking viewers to Iceland.

Netflix has released the official trailer for the anime adaptation of Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest. Just watching the trailer alone, you wouldn’t be able to tell that Kei Miyama, the teen protagonist, can talk to cars (but he can!). He’s introduced as a private investigator who lives with his grandpa in Iceland and dreams of going wherever he wants on a sunny day. A key visual was released alongside the trailer.

Produced by Qzil.la, the anime will be directed by Yosuke Kubo with Takashi Sano as the chief director and who will also handle the series composition. Chikashi Kubota will be in charge of the character designs. Tomohiro Ono stars as Kei Miyama.

Written and illustrated by Aki Irie, the manga began serialization in Harta before transitioning to Aokishi in April 2021 until February 2025. The series then moved to Yukiwariso in October 2025. The manga currently has seven tankobon volumes. Vertical licensed the manga in 2018.

Kodansha describes the story:

The story takes place in Iceland, at land’s end, 64ºN. Kei Miyama is a 17-year-old with three secrets: he can talk to cars, he can’t handle pretty girls, and he works as a private investigator. One case has him searching for a beloved dog, another involves reuniting a woman with a man she fell for at first sight. And then comes a case that strikes close to home-searching for his own little brother. Tag along as this globe-spanning journey unfolds…

Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest will stream on Netflix worldwide in 2027.
