Glacier Bay Books has revealed it has licensed Akari.

The publisher posted a list of updates and inventory after receiving Star Fruit Books’ titles following the death of its founder Matt Haasch. Among the updates included a license announcement of Marco Kohinata’s Akari which will be Kohinata’s English debut. Preorders for the manga will be shipped in June with the story made available in bookstores later in the year.

Akari was originally published in Japan by Hero’s Inc. in 2022. Glacier Bay Books describes the story:

A quietly beautiful standalone story about mistaken identity, found family, and the profound power of art. Marco Kohinata’s warm, softly textured lines and shading subtly evoke the color and shape, the fullness and complexity of human emotion.

Akari is currently printing now and will be available in June.
