This summer just got a little more magical.
GKIDS released the seven Studio Ghibli movies that will be released for a theatrical run this summer all the way to October. Many of these films are celebrating anniversaries such as Castle in the Sky‘s 40th anniversary, Spirited Away‘s 25th anniversary, Only Yesterday‘s 35th anniversary, Tales from Earthsea‘s 20th anniversary, and some fan-favorite classics like the forever beloved My Neighbor Totoro. Each movie will run for a few days each month.

Here are the list of films and dates it will play in theaters below with both English dub and Japanese dub with English subtitle options:
June – Ponyo

Since its founding in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, and Toshio Suzuki, Studio Ghibli’s films have been a household name, from its first film Castle in the Sky to its most recent, The Boy and the Heron. Almost all of its films have received critical acclaim for its thematic storytelling, music, and animation. Two films have won Academy Awards, the first being Spirited Away in 2003 and The Boy and the Heron, twenty years later.
